Through the generosity of its members, the World Affairs Council of Maine provides opportunities for members to get together over a meal and discuss a Great Decisions topic. Please join us! Great Decisions Luncheon
What interests govern China’s engagement in Africa? Should China’s growing emphasis on political ties and natural resource extraction inform U.S. relations with African nations?
The lunch will be hosted by Council President Clifford Gilpin. He worked and traveled extensively in Indonesia for the World Bank in the 1980s and early 1990s and managed the Bank's work in education, health and population during that period.
Clifford Gilpin has a professional background in education planning and human resources. During his career at the World Bank he traveled frequently to Indonesia and managed the Bank's work in education, health and population there from 1987 to 1992.
