DESCRIPTION:NPR foreign affairs correspondent Jackie Northam’s career path has led her through areas of open conflict and geopolitical upheaval across Europe\, Asia\, and Africa. The World Affairs Council of Maine and the Camden Conference will present An Evening with Jackie Northam on Wednesday\, November 18 at the Lunt Auditorium\, hosted by OceanView at Falmouth\, 74 Lunt Rd.\, Falmouth\, Maine.  \nNortham’s decades-long career as a foreign correspondent for NPR took her through more than a decade of postings overseas\, reporting from the front lines of some of the era’s defining conflicts. In recent years\, her reporting has focused on the intersection of foreign policy and global economics\, offering audiences a distinctive lens on how power and money shape world events. \nNortham will be interviewed onstage by Christopher E. Barr\, President of the World Affairs Council of Maine\, followed by audience questions. Barr served on the professional staff of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and brings over a decade of experience at the intersections of U.S. foreign policy\, Congress\, and the Middle East and North Africa.  \nA reception begins at 5:30 p.m.\, followed by the program at 6:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public; registration is required due to limited seating.
